She is one of the androids (from one of the earliest generations as well I believe as she was a roommate of Nami before the start of the comic).
I went through a quick archive crawl to look for when their sleeping arrangement began (since I remembered something about her regulating her temperature) but instead found this one which answers your question I think:

So it seems she does need to sleep eventually.
